Course Synopsis

To familiarize students with construction of different types of Confidence Intervals, hypothesis testing procedures and sequential analysis.

Course Learning Outcomes

• . Explain and apply approaches to our confidence in them by examining the area of interval estimation. • Asses the plausibility of pre-specified ideas about the parameters of a model by examining the area of hypothesis testing. • The understanding of the concepts of testing, size and power of a test. • The understanding of and derivation of simple and generalized likelihood ratio theory.
