Course Contents
Asymmetric synthesis in Organic Chemistry:
Reactions involving C-C single bond: Generation of Enolate and enamine, enolates, stability and thermodynamic control during generation of carbanions, thermodynamically and kinetically controlled products, competition between C and O- alkylation; reactions and stereochemistry of enolates: asymmetric synthesis involving chemoselective and regioselective oxidation–reduction reactions.
Course Synopsis
this course include the Asymmetric synthesis and role of asymmetric synthesis in drugs and medicine.chiral pool, chiral auxillary and chiral regent and catalyst play an important role in asymmetric synthesis. Asymmetric synthesis involves almost in all types of reactions. some basic concept of stereochemistry and specific terms regarding chiral synthesis is also included in this course
Course Learning Outcomes
To learn what is stereochemistry, how stereochemistry effects the on nature of compounds, how importance to achieve target sterochemistry of compound for an specific drugs.
to understand what are the methods which is used to achieve asymmetric synthesis.
