Electromagnetic waves and fields at an advanced level. Scattering theory of electro-magnetic waves. Wave guide theory and diffraction of electromagnetic waves. Boundary-value problems in electrostatics, basic magneto statics; multipoles; Maxwell’s equations for time-varying fields; energy and momentum; Poynting’s theorem; gauge transformations; propagation, reflection and refraction of electromagnetic waves; wave-guides and cavities ; interference and diffraction; simple radiating system; dynamics of relativistic particles and fields; radiation by moving charges.
