Course Synopsis
This course aims to equip the students with basic knowledge and skills to design, and conduct research on language teaching. It concerns the types and the methods of research on Language teaching focusing on qualitative and quantitative research. The students will understand and apply research approaches, techniques and strategies in the appropriate manner and develop necessary critical thinking skills in order to evaluate different research approaches utilised language teaching. They will demonstrate knowledge and understanding of data analysis and interpretation in relation to the research process.

On successful completion of the module students will be able to

• Describe quantitative, qualitative and mixed methods approaches to research
