Course Synopsis
This course of listening and speaking skills is designed for the pre-service and in-service teachers to develop an understanding of the listening and speaking skills through theory, research, and practice. This course aims to provide the practitioners with the ability to design, assess and evaluate task-based activities and lesson plans on speaking and listening skills with the focus on real-life communications. The target of the course is to polish the teaching skills of the English language teachers by introducing them to the importance of the receptive and productive skill of listening and speaking respectively and henceforth play their role as facilitators of language and give encouragement to their students in order to become better speakers and listeners in the English language.
Aims and Objectives:
The course aims to enable students to:
1. Impart the knowledge of the concepts, theories, research and classroom practices related to listening and speaking skills in language pedagogy
2. Design, develop and assess listening and speaking activities and lesson plans for English language learners
3. Explain, teach and practice the real-life skills of listening and speaking through active task-based classroom sessions
