Course Synopsis

This course is regarding secondary methods of social work discipline which are social research and social administration. Details description of these contents will be provided. Different fields/areas of social work practice will be discussed and these areas are adopted from "The Schedule" of The Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961 & Amendments Act, 2012. At the end, the voluntary welfare agencies, their types and their roles in the socio-economic development of the country will be discussed.

Course Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, student will be able to understand: 1- the social research, its steps and different tools of data collection. As the students of social sciences, this knowledge will help them in their future research practicum. 2- the management processes within any social welfare agency for example planning, organizing, coordinating, budgeting, reporting etc. 3- the different fields of practice in social work and they will also know about services regarding these field in Pakistan through various governmental and non-governmental agencies.
