Role of Professional Social Worker in Community Development Practicals:- (Any Two) During Semester students will be engaged in different assignments given from the department of Social Work. Such as:- • Medicine Collection for deserving patients of government hospitals and free dispensaries. • Financial assistance for the needy students. • Maintenance of Book Bank. • Activities for helping individuals and organizations i.e., donations for medical expenses of any critical patient, donations for victims of natural calamities and disaster, awareness raising campaigns about social problems etc.

Course Synopsis

This course will provide knowledge about basic methods of Social Work. The students will learn about elements, principles and phases involved in all these methods and also about different roles which a professional social worker needs to play while working with individual clients, groups and communities.This course will help the students to use different techniques in enhancing social functioning of the people and to increase their participation in the development of their society and,hence, that of their nation.

Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course students should be able to:- i.Identify as a professional social worker and conduct oneself accordingly. ii. Apply social work ethical principles to guide professional practice. iii. Apply critical thinking to inform and communicate professional judgments. iv. Engage diversity and difference in practice. v. Empower people to utilize their own problem solving and coping capabilities more effectively. vi. Promote social justice and equality to all people for full participation in society.
