Course Synopsis
This course takes a cross-cultural, inter-disciplinary, and multi-methodological approach to understand contemporary Gender issues worldwide.
• To develop a theoretical understanding of gender issues
• To understand the global dynamics of gender issues
• To learn about the tools used to examine gender issues
Course Learning Outcomes
• At the end of this course, students will be able to understand the structural and societal aspects of gender relations globally as well as in Pakistan.
• Additionally, they will be able to analyze and identify gender issues by using theories of gender with critical thinking skills.
• Recognize societal institutions and power structures that occur within a patriarchal society, and analyze the ways in which these institutions and structures impact the material realities of women’s and men’s lives differently
