Course Contents
Physical chemistry: types of chemical equilibrium. Characterization of chemical equilibrium. Different types of chemical equilibrium, types of chemical kinetics order, reaction rate, half life. Activation energy and its determination. Introduction to surface chemistry, colloids, preparation, emulsion preparation and uses, gels preparation, uses and properties.
Organic chemistry: aromatic hydrocarbons, introduction, sources and nomenclature, structure of benzene, kekule structure, physical properties, resonance and orbital, synthesis and reactivity, electrophilic substituition, addition oxidation reduction reactions of benzene, Naphthalene, preparation and reactions, Alkyl halides, nomenclature,structure, physical properties, preparation and reactions, Nucleophilic substituition reaction, SN1 and SN2 reactions, elimination reactions, organometallic compounds, Grignard reagents, formation and reaction, structure, reactions, applications and reactivity of Grignards reagents.
