Course Contents
• Introduction to Management: What is Management, Concept of Managers, What is meant by Organization, Management Functions, Management Roles, Managerial Skills.
• The History and evaluation of Management, Classical Approach: Scientific Management & General Administrative Theory, Behavioral Approach: Hawthorne Studies, Quantitative Approach: Total Quality Management, Contemporary Approach: Systems Theory & Contingency theory.
• Environment and Organizational culture: Omnipotent Versus Symbolic approach to managers, Organizational culture, strong versus weak culture, where does culture come from, the environment and factors from external environment effecting the organization.
Course Synopsis
Develop the role and significance of managers and management; introduce the basic theories, techniques, and tools used in various areas of management, and to illustrate them with examples from the organizations. Develop analytical and decision-making skills in actual scenarios. Emphasis will be on the integration of basic management skills for understanding and resolving managerial problems of the organizations.

Conceptually, it offers focus areas and perspectives ranging from the planning of a small business to the broader roles of management, finance, employment relations, marketing and the impact of the global business environment.
