3. Addition Polymers; Condensation; Crystalline Structure of Polymers; Conditions for Crystalline ; Principles of packing of Polymer chain;
4. Fine Structure; Orientation and Crystalline ; Chain length and molecular slip; Effect of stretch on crystalline and amorphous regions;
5. Properties due to crystalline and amorphous regions.
6. Chemistry of Cellulose: Purification of Cellulose materials; Chemical constitution of cellulose e.g. Structures of the molecule and groups, degree of polymerization; Derivatives of Cellulose (Cellulose Esters, Cellulose Ethers, Reactivity of Hydroxyl groups); Hydrolysis of cellulose (Hydrocellulose, Rate of Attack, Determination of the degradation; viscosity method, and group analysis); Oxidation of cellulose, Attack of cellulose by alkali.
Practical:
1. Practical will be based on theory topics.
