Course Synopsis
This course takes a cross-cultural, inter-disciplinary and multi-methodological approach to understand contemporary Gender issues world wide.
• To develop theoretical understanding of gender issues
• To understand the global dynamics of gender issues
• To learn about the tools used to examine gender issues
Course Learning Outcomes
• At the end of this course, students will be able to understand the structural and societal aspects of gender relations globally as well as in the Pakistan.
• Additionally, they will be able to analyze and identify gender issues by using theories of gender with critical thinking skills.
• Recognize societal institutions and power structures that occur within patriarchal society, and analyze the ways in which these institutions and structures impact the material realities of women’s and men’s lives differently
