Course Contents
It introduces the students to the concept of development journalism focusing on the principles and techniques of development reporting, opinion writing along editing for the growth of society through communication. It will provide an overview of important phenomenon of Development Journalism. The students will be able to interpret and analyze the role of print media in highlighting social issues. It will also enable students to contribute towards society by writing about developmental issues in print media.

• Difference between Development Journalism, Development Communication and Development Support Communication
• Seven Areas of Development Journalism
• Development Reporting
• Qualities and responsibilities of a development journalist
• Role of development journalism in the society
The students will design a pamphlet and a poster on any development issue at the time of mid term examination and will submit a complete development report of any organization at the end of the semester.
Course Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to write and contribute various journalistic writings in Development media i.e. newsletters, magazines and newspapers specifically designed for development issues
