Electromagnetic Radiation, Electromagnetic spectrum, UV Visible Spectroscopy, Gamma rays on the basis of Energy and Frequency, Beer’s Law, Lambert’s Law, Wood ward Fieser’s rule, important term use in spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Bathochromic effect, auxochromic, blue shift, Hypochromic effect, Hyperchromic effect, λmax, isobestic pain, instrumentation, sample handling, solvent effect applications.
FTIR Spectroscopy:
Introduction of Infra-Red Spectroscopy, Instrumentation and sampling, Normal coordinate and normal vibrations, Applications for qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis; Interpretation of Spectra, theory vibrations, stretching and bending vibrations, Hook’s Law, Instrumentation, sample preparation, KBr-method, Nujal method, spectrum reading for at least five groups, Applications.
