Course Synopsis

This course offers a foundation in theory and practice of educational leadership and management with special emphasis on English as Second Language Teaching context. Leadership and management are essentially practical activities, an insight into different aspects of managerial skills will be helpful for aspirant ESL teachers, who wish to switch their expertise from classroom teaching to educational management and leadership. The course content is designed to reflect the changing needs of English language schools and other educational settings. Aims and Objectives: The aim of this module is to 1. Extend students’ knowledge and awareness of the current management and leadership theories, principles and practices. 2. Develop management skills through the application of this knowledge and awareness to ESL teaching context. 3. Encourage a critical approach towards global leadership & management practices within English Language Teaching.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:  Understand the fundamentals of Management and Leadership skills in theory and practice  Comprehend the unique scenario of TESOL Leadership and Management  Critically analyze the practices & challenges of Tesol Leadership and Management in Pakistani context.
