Course Synopsis

This practical course includes, determination of molecular mass of different polymers by viscosity measurements. Thermo-chemical measurements of, heat of solution of a salt by solubility methods and heat of precipitation. It also includes the preparation of As2S3 sol, and comparison of precipitating power of different cations.

Course Learning Outcomes

Student will learn about the determination of molecular mass of different polymers by viscosity method, thermo-chemical measurement of heat of solution of a salt by solubility method and heat of precipitation in a chemical reaction. Students will also learn about colloidal solutions and will prepare a colloidal solution of As2S3 in lab. and will compare precipitating powers of different cations.
