Course Contents
Isolation, purification and quantification of DNA and RNA; gel electrophoresis; basic techniques in molecular biology like Southern and Northern blotting, PCR amplification, Colony PCR, DNA finger printing, RFLP, T/A cloning and DNA sequencing; reticulocytes and their use in study of protein synthesis; Mini project to clone a specific gene in E. coli and study of lac operon and its inducers; computer analysis of a gene and use of molecular biology software.
