Course Synopsis

This Course aims to make students familiar with evolution and nature of Federalism in general and particularly in Pakistan. It provides an in-depth study of federal design and traditions under the different constitutional schemes in Pakistan.This course intendeds to encourage debate and an analytical approach regarding multi-dimensional challenges of federalism in the context of constitutional federalism and politics of federalism in Pakistan.

Course Learning Outcomes

On completion of the course students will acquaint with the following : • Active knowledge of contemporary trend in the Federalism, constitution, ethnic, religious and political aspect of Pakistani politics • Academic skill in evaluating identities and regional trends in Pakistan with reference to political system and politics • Analysis of key debates in the study of contemporary Pakistan academic literature regarding constitution, law and political system • Greater familiarity with the academic literature regarding constitution, law and political system • Strong research and writing skills with a special emphasis on the social scientific analysis federalism and federal issues in Pakistan
