Course Synopsis
o Develop strong creative and problem solving skills
o Gain technical expertise in a range of design layouts and repeats
o Build knowledge of design for a particular market
o Gain an idea of the experience of working within the fashion and textile industries
o Know the process of Textiles from theme selection, sketching, rendering till finishing.
o Knowledge and understanding of the functional and aesthetical requirements of textiles for a range of applications.
o The ability to efficiently communicate ideas in 2-D sketches.
o Importance of creativity, idea generation and visual communication.
o Repeats: Block, square, half drop, diamond, mirror and over-all.
o For each Repeat the students will create a: Research Board, Sketch, Painted Key, Repeated Design on Graph sheets and on scholar sheets painted in poster colors.
