Course Synopsis

Drawing is a form of visual art that makes use of any number of drawing instruments to mark a two-dimensional medium. Architectural/Interior drawing is simply the technical drawing of a house/interior, a building or any kind of structure or detailing. A sketch, diagram, plan, or schematic used to design, construct, and document buildings and other structures. The drawings may be used to indicate the overall appearance, inside or outside the structure, or they may be used to indicate precise measurements and other details for construction. Students will be able to describe and compose the space and light of area and furniture. • Students understand the textures from surroundings to design them in future • Students attain an appropriate level of drawing skills to use different paint mediums • Emphasis is placed on developing basic techniques of drawing through perspective from variable eye levels. Emphasis is placed on advancement to capture variable views of architecture.

Course Learning Outcomes

The Students will learn how to develop a design idea into a coherent proposal and how to communicate ideas and concepts. With the help of drawings, the students will be able to draw their ideas whether in the form of sketches or proper drawings which will help them to convince clients of the merits of a design. The labeling and dimensioning in the drawings according to the standards will enable a building contractor to construct it. At the same time, the students will able to learn how to make a record of the completed work, and how to make a record of a building that already exists. The students will be able to follow a certain set of conventions while making Architectural/ Interior drawings for maintaining the uniformity of drawings in terms of – Scale, line weight, size of sheet, line weight, line type, symbols. Upon completion, students should be able to complete a set of working drawings for a simple structure
