Course Contents
1-Mono Color Painting
Objective: To give student a different approach to art, by using monochrome means single color in painting or drawing.
Out Come: Students come to know that monochromatic painting is created using only one color or hue. They can use different shades of one color but with only one base color, the relative lightness or darkness of a color and find out that a single color can have an almost infinite number of different tones.
2--Still life drawing with objects and black and white lines
Objective: Lines are used to create shape, pattern, texture, space, movement and optical illusion in design and use of lines in drawing allows to demonstrate delicacy or force and can express various moods and feelings and angles.
Out Come: Single color lines in objects make them stand out against black and white lines which give students a better understanding about the shape of the objects. This practice enables them to distinguish between fore ground and back ground as well.
3-- Drawing by scratching oil pastels
Objective: Scratching creates awareness about multiple effects and textures. They are also great for creating a painting concept with strokes pattern.
Out Come: In this useful technique student can see the blended colors before applying them, hence, preventing disappointments if the shade does not turn out as expected. If more colors are put underneath, the results will be more beautiful and vibrant.
4-Still life on Canvass with Acrylic paints
Objective: It gives students awareness as how to apply this different medium (color) and see acrylic color’s different properties of thickness, consistency; sheen, and its texture with tactile quality.
Outcome : Students after using acrylic paint come to know that this paint dries quickly, can be diluted with water and cleans up easily, is more opaque than watercolor and do not need to add many layers and one can get more realistic with acrylic which is not as toxic as oils (less fumes).
5- Still life drawing with Charcoal and white chalk:
Objectives: To give awareness about Chalk and charcoal which are considered the most basic of drawing materials, both are used to make sketches and finished works. .
Out Come: The student comes to know that joy of using charcoal as a drawing medium lies in its spontaneity and sensitivity. Charcoal pencils consist of compressed charcoal powder and a gum binder, which produces a fine, sharp line, while charcoal provides a smooth, softer line. Chalk is a drawing material, similar in texture and appearance to pastel, made from various soft stones
6-Drapery rendering
Objective: To give students awareness about Techniques of rendering drapery with different mediums.
Out Come: Students come to know about the importance of Drapery depiction in drawing, painting, and the folds of clothing. The treatment of folds and its significance lies in the fact that it presents to the spectator the main mass of the clothed human figure or shape of any other object.
7- Still life with Ink colors
Objective: To introduce the students of intense colors, transparency and fluidity of inks and how this ink, is diluted with water for varying effect. Thick ink is very deep and glossy, while thin ink appears lively and translucent.
Out Come :This media shows how one can skillfully use ink to create an image of great immediacy and life, balancing brightness and darkness, density and light, line and tone.
8-Rendering of different textures with pencil colors:
Objective: To give awareness to students that Texture is one of the seven elements of art and design and can create the illusion of 3d object on 2d surface.
Out Come: By using pencil rendering the student understands how to create the illusion of actual object and create the visual impression of 3d object by adding value and texture on a sheet of paper.
9- Painting with white color on black background
Objective: To make students learn about different painting styles, like painting on black background.
Outcome: Students find out that painting on a black canvas is actually very easy and can yield some super stunning paintings. They don’t have to paint many details in the background. Often times this makes black canvas paintings simpler and less time consuming. Also, when painted on a black surface, a student can easily create some sharp contrast.
10-Replica Drawing of Object/portrait/nature
Objective: The main purpose is to improve the drawing quality and skill of students.
Out Come: As Copying is one of the main expressions of development and improvement so by copying drawings of great artists students often improve their expression regarding line, texture, color and learn rendering techniques and create innovations. Without copying or imitation there would be no different styles of music or art.
11-Marble paints textures enamel painting
Objective: To introduce students of various techniques of color textures which they can use in the background or can create multi-colored swirled or stone-like patterns on paper / fabric/pots.
Out Come: This technique make students aware about how to create marble textures using paints on water surface and then carefully transferred to an absorbent surface, such as paper or fabric or pots.
12-Drawing of an object with multiple angles
Objective: To train students how to draw a single object with multiple views
Out Come: A Multi view sketch shows two or three views of an object that gives a better shape description of the object. Students are free to choose angles of their choice enlarge or decrease the size accordingly this makes drawing more interesting for students.
13-Water color textures with plastic sheet
Objective: To impart awareness about textures technique by using plastic wrap with colors.
Out Come :By using plastic wrap on wet colors students learn a new technique of textures .This enhances their ability to merge various colors by using plastic wrap and develop their skills to create different pattern of flower and leaves in nature.
14-Painting with Knife painting
Objective: To introduce students about a very unique style of painting where student find out how to apply paint with knife other than the brush.
Outcome: Through this technique students come to know how to use palette knife for mixing or applying paint, with a flexible steel blade. Painting with different sized knives gives them a chance to explore different textures and strokes with thick paints.
15-Drawing with pastels
Objective: To give awareness about pastels colors which are used to produce artwork on a specific type of paper.
Outcome: Students come to know about different rendering techniques of this medium and enjoy the soft effects and versatility of pastel in their drawing.
Course Learning Outcomes
The main reason to introduce this subject is to improve the drawing quality and skill of students - The purposes for drawing are to sketch or record of something seen, remembered, or imagined and make students learn different techniques of drawing on different type of material and develop and improve their expertise with variety of mediums - Realistic and abstract drawing helps to stimulate creative thoughts, increase observational skills and, develop visual artwork ideas in all mediums - As a primary visual language, essential for communication and expression, drawing is as important as the development of written and verbal skills for students - These rendering drawing techniques make students understand how this skill can be helpful to create successful textile designs as well when used for professional projects in industry or further study - The students are trained to , draw from direct observation, daily practice , look and study historical drawings for better observation and understanding.
