While the second year focuses on developing the ability to handle exploration and convergence as the basics of architectural design in terms of architectural design in terms of architectural analysis and synthesis of ideas, the third year aims to further enhance the design skills to a stage where the architectural intents are resolved and become communicative. Design needs to be resolved contextually, conceptually and pragmatically.

Course Synopsis

This studio focuses on building types that exhibits complexity and challenges with special requirements of acoustics, artificial lighting, mechanical ventilation, thermal control or large spans without intermittent supports. Frame construction (RCC, Steel or Timber ) is introduced. Project design must show clear understanding of structural, mechanical and construction systems and environmental control systems, along with space planning, Architectural programming is introduced.

Course Learning Outcomes

Students are supposed to design two projects in the semester. Whereas the class is divided into groups. The project assigned to them are as follow: Project 01: Group 01: Cardiac Hospital Group 02: Trauma Center Project 02: Library
