Course Synopsis

The purpose of studying this course is having knowledge about Theories and approaches for conservation of Historic Buildings in the light of international conventions and charters. Study of conservation helps one to undertstand problems at different scales in Protected Historic Monuments and areas.Study of traditional and latest techniques for monitoring and management of cultural property.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course the students should be able to Students will have a better understanding of critical processes in conservation in order to apply them at the macro/micro levels; improve their strategic planning skills relevant to heritage management; expand their awareness, knowledge, and understanding of current principles and practices in conservation of the built heritage; and enhance skills, judgments, and experience. Students will understand the legislation and international charters about conservation of historic building.
