Combinatorial synthesis of Azo dyes
A. (a) Synthesis of diazonium salts (Using aromatic compounds containing –NH2 group)
(b) Coupling of the diazonium salt with different coupling reagents
B. Applications of synthesized dyes by applying on different fibers (cotton, silk, wool, etc).
C. Study the structure and reactivity of a synthesized library of azo dyes by measuring their λmax and molecular extinction coefficient
Course Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course:
students should be able to synthesize a library of azo dyes by using a singla common reaction
should be able to measure the coefficient of absorbance and λmax.
should be able to correlate the structure and activity relationship
students should know about the application of synthesized dyes on different fibers
