Course Contents
Ziegler-Natta and Wacker catalyst, polymerization and Oligomerization of ethylene, propylene, olefins, cyclic olefins and alkynes, Fischer-Tropsch process, Oxidation reaction, synthesis of acrylates and related derivative
Course Synopsis
The course includes a detailed study about the catalytic process. Both homogeneous and heterogeneous catalyst will be studied along with mechanism of the reactions. Factors effecting catalytic ability will also be discussed.
Course Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course, students would have understood the mechanism of different important catalytic reactions. They would have a deep understanding of the industrially used catalysts, their efficiencies and limitations. This course will help students to develop a catalytic system for any industrial process in future.
