Course Synopsis

Course Description: This course deals with the Health education and prevention programs concerning with obesity, alcohol and AIDS etc in relation to their rationale, procedures and effectiveness. Objectives:The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with preventive medicine and health education as an area of specialization and enable students to acquire an in-depth understanding of how psychological methods and principles can be applied for the promotion and maintenance of health as well as the prevention, management and treatment of illness.

Course Learning Outcomes

1. Learn how health educational programs can be applied to enhance health and treating illness 2. Develop skills for designing programs to improve one's own and others' personal health habits and lifestyles 3. Become aware of the impact that disabling or life-threatening illnesses have on patients and their families.
