Course Synopsis

This course aims to provide a detailed knowledge, skill and increased competency in a major method of Social Work and a field practice. To introduce students, the role of Social Worker in a variety of case work settings as problem solving skill. This course will help the students to use the social case work techniques in enhancing social functioning of clients including public hospitals, mental health centers, schools, youth and old age home services. Students will equip themselves with the policies, programs and service delivery systems relevant to the field practice.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students should be able to:- 1. Understand the impact of bio/psycho/social problems on individuals. 2. Make psychosocial assessment of individuals and implementing intervention. 3. Face social case work challenges in its different fields with applying all principles and techniques of the discipline. 4. Come out with improved communication, teamwork, presentation and study skills. 5. Understand the issues related to the need for empowering those who are oppressed due to sexism, racism, ageism and class differences.
