Course Synopsis

In modernized societies the system of social control and law has become one of the most dominant components of the total social structure to bring harmony and social order in the society. The course has been framed with the objective to provide information regarding the understanding of the philosophy of human rights in the local, national and international context. The students will then be promptly aware of the rights of the citizens, minority, children, prisoners, women etc, and they shall then adopt a better mechanism for Social Legislations-Constitutional provisions in favor of such deprived communities.

Course Learning Outcomes

Accordingly, the major objectives of teaching this course are to acquaint the students with the nature and functioning of law and process of legislation in the country. Similarly, the course will generate in the minds of students an awareness of their status and role as citizens of the state and how they can play their role in the maintenance of social order. Further, the emphasis of the course is to make the students aware of the prerequisites about the social and cultural boundaries and the sanction behind the law.
