Course Synopsis

History of Persian language and literature in Iran including the timeline of dates, political and literary history of Iran and its major authors, recognized literary periods: beginning from pre-Islamic Iran; Samanid Period; Ghaznavi period;Saljuqi, Eelkhani, Safvid, Qachari... till the revolution-of Islam in Iran.

Course Learning Outcomes

1. The students will get the basic and extensive level knowledge of political and literary history of Iran. 2. They will become familiar with major texts of authors. 3. The students will be able to identify changes overtime in the tree styles: Khorasani, Iraqi, Hindi etc. 4. They can easily compare the literary history of Iran during different times. 5. They will know a vast range of literary history from the beginning to the present.
