Course Synopsis

The most important and memorable events of History of Muslim Rule in South Asia 712 - 1526 are highlighted through the selected readings. course covers the three phases of Muslim rule, era of invaders, establishment of Muslim rule with slave dynasty till Lodhi dynasty and heritage of Muslims in south Asia. How Arab, Turkish, central Asian and Persian culture influenced the indigenous and Hinduism.

Course Learning Outcomes

after completion of this course students would be able to understand the great battles, achievements of invaders as warrior and other events that had repeatedly altered the map of Indian subcontinent A time-sense has thus been achieved without loading these stories with unnecessary dates. the aim of selected readings to give a sound knowledge to students about the Muslim heritage, art, literature, architecture etc.
