Course Synopsis
The course aims to familiarize students with 'Economic development' from gender perspectives. In recent decades of economic development and continued environmental degradation, gender and development studies have become a major concern. This course provides an overview of economic development issues and concerns of Sustainable development, Women in development planning, the role of women in rural development, scheming for women by alleviating poverty through good governance, capacity building, and empowering women by discussing key concepts in gender and development and its relevance in development in the region.
Course Learning Outcomes
Through this course, the student will be in a position to understand the economic development concepts, its theoretical perspectives as well as practical concerns and how it relates to 'Gender'.
It will enable students to get an understanding and realize the importance of women's contribution to the economic development process of any country.
