Course Synopsis
This course mainly encompasses the contents related to the introduction of Gender Studies as an interdisciplinary field of study and focuses to analyze basic concepts and terms that are integral to Gender studies that include differences between the concept of sex and gender, sexuality, patriarchy, and other gender-related terms. The course examines Gender differences by studying differences in personality traits and biological determinants. It gives an understanding of different theories of gender and socialization and gender issues with particular reference to those related to different stages of women's development.
Course Learning Outcomes
This course will enable students to develop a base for understanding Gender studies and will prepare them as active agents of change.
Students will be able to analyze different gender-related concepts and theories of gender socialization by relating them to their own individual life experiences.
