Course Contents

Students throughout the year with conceptual content will employ all the following techniques. Hybrid and mixed experimentation will enable student to bring forth their creative ideas with subjective approach. The techniques to be skilled and experimented are: 1. Etching 2. Aquatint 3. Dry Point 4. Woodcut 5. Linocut 6. Lithography 7. Mix Media 8. Digital Printing Processes • In the first half of the session students will work on relief printing and in the second half they will work on the sketches for thesis (conceptual work) • In the first half students will work on Intaglio printing and in the second half they will work on the sketches for thesis (conceptual work) • In the first half students will work on silkscreen printing and in the second half they will work on the sketches for thesis (conceptual work) • In the first half students will work on digital printing and in the second half they will work on the sketches for thesis (conceptual work) • Students will start working on the approved sketches for thesis. They will work on their final thesis in any one of the learned techniques. (Studio and dissertation) • An assignment of 1000 words will support the Final thesis at the end of the year.

Course Synopsis

Student will produce their work in all the mentioned techniques. The knowledge of all the techniques will enable the student to represent her conceptual ideas with a diverse creative approach. After that mastery of at least one printmaking technique, including the ability; both to experiment with technical innovation and to explore and develop personal concepts and imagery will be taught. The completion and presentation of a final project in the form of a degree show. Thesis and mini-Thesis will be conceptual in its content with diverse experimentation process. An assignment of 1000 words will support the Final thesis at the end of the year.

This course enables students to develop the skills, critical understanding and specialist knowledge required to follow a rewarding career as an independent artist or to work within a related creative industries perspective. This course provides a tailored learning environment that encourages and supports creative development, independence in creativity, imagination and ideas, from the individual perspective of the student.
