Multivariable Functions and partial derivatives: Function of several variables. Open and closed rectangles. Limits, continuity and differentiability of functions of several variables. Chain rule. Partial derivatives. Directional derivatives and the gradient vector. Implicit function theorem for several variables. Maximum and minimum values. Optimization problems. Lagrange’s multiplier. Multiple integrals: Double and Triple integrals and their applications. Vector Algebra: Introduction to vector algebra. Scalar and vector product. Scalar triple product and vector triple product. Vector calculus: Limit, continuity differentiability and partial derivatives of vector point function. Scalar and vector fields. The gradient, divergence and curl.


Course Learning Outcomes

This course helps to develop the concepts of the vector calculus, the calculus of multivariable functions and double and triple integrals.
