Cultural Heritage of Pakistan: Evolutionary process of human society in Proto-historic period (Mehrgarh); Evolutionary process of human society in Human Society in Historic period (Indus Valley Civilisation, Art and Architecture of Mohenjo Daro and Harrapa); Heritage of Buddhist Period (Gandhara, w.r.t. Taxila, Swat, etc.)
Course Synopsis
The course provides an understanding about the evolution of culture in the Indian sub-continent, with specific reference to the time periods from pre-historic to proto-historic leading on to the historic period of civilisations. Detailed discussions are held about human existences that had prevailed in areas such as Mehrgarh, Indus valley, Harappa,and Taxila. The key objective of this course is to take students along the journey of the cultural heritage we have acquired from our age-old civilisations -a heritage which is on a par with other ancient cultures of the world in terms of time and richness.
