Quantitative Research Methods in Education Class M.S Education Course Title: Quantitative Research Methods in Education Course Code: EDU-713 Credit Hours: 3 This course provides an introduction to the use of quantitative methods in research. Emphasis will be on achieving an understanding of quantitative methods and associated statistical techniques considered so that you can think critically about suitable procedures for research design, collection and analysis of data, and the usefulness of statistics. Students will gain experience with using the SPSS package on computers. Learning outcomes: On successful completion of this course students will be able to: 1. Compare and contrast different sampling methodologies and assess suitability for a range of situations; 2. Discuss different types of variables and produce appropriate graphical and numerical descriptive statistics; 3. Explain and apply probability rules and concepts relating to a range discrete and continuous random variables; 4.
