Course Contents
The course will focus on properties of traditional and modern materials, (optional properties, deformation and deterioration, mechanical properties etc.) their selection criteria and use in construction; their classification such as; structural/non-structural, finishing and insulating materials etc.
Course Synopsis
Detailed study of bricks and stones as building materials. Introduction to masonry construction ; both bricks and stone masonry sub structures and super structures including the details of foundations, DPC, sill and lintels, practical exercises and site visits.
Course Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to learn the details of Masonry construction of bricks and stones, foundations, DPC, sill and lintels, practical exercises and site visits.
