Course Contents

Critical analysis of architecture to develop the ability to understand architectural issues theoretically to introduce architectural thoughts from Vitruvius to present. The course provide deeper look at development of architecture and architectural theories with special emphasize on 2oth century but with background of history as well. The course also include historiography of modern architecture, with broaden perspectives of writing history and analyzing models. It also addresses urban planning issues, with special reference to modernism and urbanism.

Course Synopsis

This course deals with the Cognitive recognition of architectural theories in historic, geographical and stylistic contexts. Critical analysis of architecture to develop the ability to understand architectural issues theoretically to introduce architectural thoughts from Vitruvius to present.

Course Learning Outcomes

Students will able to: • Describe the development of architecture in relation to emergence of modern society • Discuss, analyze and contextualize individual buildings and texts from the 20th Century • Explain theoretical and practical development of architecture • Discuss modern concepts and built environment
