Course Contents
Theory: Importance of legislation in planning; Outline of planning legislation and its evolution in UK and USA. Understanding of factors behind the enactment of such legislation. The legislative basis for planning and implementation of plans. The relationship of central and local government. Concepts, definitions and objective of zoning and land subdivision regulations. Legislation relating to city and regional planning in Pakistan including various acts, orders, ordinances and bylaws concerning Master Planning, Area Development Schemes, Land Acquisition, Housing, Building Control, Transport, Public Health and environmental protection. Process of en-acting legislation.
